Adam’s journey began in the solar industry at Omnidian, where he led civic engagement around justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (J.E.D.I.). He later became a Department of Energy-certified Community Solar Developer, co-founded DC Power Plants, and currently serves as Executive Director of Key Tech Labs and the Digital Business Center & Coop, helping under-resourced communities access emerging tech, AI, and workforce tools.
Through projects like Shark Garden’s solar-powered water system and the Second Life Solar Initiative, Adam focuses on deploying microgrid infrastructure that supports food, water, shelter, and economic resilience. His work through House of Powers is more than a company—it’s a blueprint for thriving, self-sustaining ecosystems that integrate renewable energy, green construction, and community health.
Russell Powers is a seasoned technology leader with over a decade of experience at the intersection of cloud architecture, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and customer success. He most recently served as a Senior Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft, specializing in Azure and AI integration. Prior to that, he played a key role at Google Cloud as a Technical Account Manager, where he was nominated as a Cloud Support Champion and helped lead DEI initiatives through the Washington Black Googler Network.
Russell’s career includes impactful roles at Security Scorecard and ExtraHop, where he earned a reputation for blending deep technical expertise with program management and community-driven innovation. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and Entrepreneurship from Seattle University, along with multiple advanced certifications, including Google AI Essentials and the Google Cybersecurity Certificate.
As Chief Technology Officer of House of Powers, Russell leads the creation of the digital infrastructure that powers the organization’s mission: building self-sustaining communities through energy, education, and equity.
