This page proudly presents the Sol Tiny Village, an innovative vision for a Veteran Tiny House Village. Here, we transform shipping containers into fully off-grid, sustainable homes, intricately designed for self-sufficiency. Each tiny house in the village is connected to an advanced solar microgrid, harnessing and storing solar energy to power every aspect of these compact, eco-friendly dwellings.Â
Our Mission
Key Tech Labs and its collaborators, like DC Power Plants & Green Housing Co-op, are committed to creating a sustainable, supportive community for veterans. We specialize in micro-housing development, focusing on tiny houses and villages with an emphasis on eco-friendly living and self-sufficiency. Our initiative is mainly geared towards supporting veterans with low to moderate incomes and those facing homelessness.
Innovative Micro Housing:
Solar-Powered Residences: Each tiny house features its own solar energy system integrated into a village-wide microgrid.
Eco-friendly and Resouce-Efficient Homes: The villages run on solar power and are designed for minimal water usage, including innovative green technologies like air-to-water generation systems and incinerating toilets.
Community Support Services: Residents benefit from no-cost utilities, bi-monthly healthy food box deliveries, and other essential support.
Empowerment through Workforce Development
Training and Employment Opportunities:Â
We offer residents the chance to join our workforce development program. This initiative trains and employs them in constructing additional tiny homes and developing new tiny villages.
Skill Development in Green Technologies
Skill Development in Green Technologies: Participants receive training in solar energy systems and microgrid maintenance, equipping them with valuable, marketable skills.
Building a Sustainable Future
Building a Sustainable Future: Through this program, veterans not only gain employment but also contribute to the expansion of sustainable housing solutions.
Veteran-Centric Approach
Affordable, Supportive Housing
Tailored to the needs of veterans, particularly those who are economically disadvantaged or experiencing homelessness.
Nutritional and Social Well-Being
A strong focus on health and community integration through various support programs. Each home will be provided Solar energy, Water, and food (through a CSA Program) at no cost to the residents.
