This solar microgrid is a standalone system with its own solar storage. It is designed to power urban gardens all over the world. The turnkey solar microgrid is part of our community solar garden initiative, aiming to energize gardens one at a time. The kit includes a single-pole mounted solar array consisting of nine panels at 350 Watts, along with a solar storage unit housed in a wooden shed. The storage unit can hold 12 kilowatts of energy and is scalable up to 15 kilowatts. This setup is ideal for small urban gardens and can provide power for various activities such as park parties, movies, solar cookouts, and campouts.
Our pop-up libraries in makerspaces are not just community centers that can be deployed anywhere. Instead, they are designed with their own solar microgrid to provide energy for the building and support internet access through Starlink and satellite connections. The building serves six unique functions as a library, classroom, maker space, greenhouse, community kitchen, outdoor stage and theater, and outdoor workshop. This provides communities with essential resources to engage with one another and create experiences that foster community spirit. Additionally, the availability of electricity and internet connectivity allows these centers to connect the community to the wider world. For areas without access to an existing grid, these community centers can serve as an initial green infrastructure to support community growth from within.
